Account types

Your chart of accounts is the backbone of your books. Every account belongs to one of five types: Asset, Liability, Equity, Revenue, or Expense. Account codes are unique within your company.

Opening balance can be set when you create an account but is protected from editing afterward to preserve historical accuracy.
